Tried yesterday and today to ugrade my android devices from my VFR sub to include IFR plates.  No joy.  I get a message that the update is not currently available from Google Play.

Not that it's mission critical or anything, but wanted to let AP know if they didn't already.

Mark, what version were you using?  Are you on beta by chance?

Thanks,
Walter

Walter, Brian responded to my bug report - yes I was running a beta version.  Makes sense one can't purchase upgrades on a beta platform, but unknown to me.  Thanks.

I think you could probably install the stock VFR version of iFly from Google Play, then upgrade it to the IFR version. After that, you should be able to install the IFR beta version.

Yep, except that I was using my android tab running the beta version, so no go on purchasing the IFR plates.  Per Brian, beta versions can't purchase plates, whether on the Google Play store or the iFly store.

BTW, I learned from Brian that Google Play takes 30% of the purchase price - ouch - and suggested that iFly make the plates available as a stand-alone update rather than make them only available as a bundle purchase with the standard subscription as a means to increase the AP bottom line.

I agreeI could have gone back to stock iFly, then purchased the plates, then re-installed the beta version, but that was waaay to much work for my immediate needs.  I put off the purchase for the plates for a bit as SNF looks like the release date for the newest version of iFly. I've had plates before, but the subscription doesn't run concurrent with my primary sub so they had expired.
