Thanks, Brolin --  I have a capable Win10 desktop.  I'll probably pick up a cheap stick/throttle (e.g., Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas One) and not worry about rudder pedals.  I'm mainly interested in getting my wife some simulated time with iFlyGPS so she can more easily help me when we fly together.  (And I didn't want her using the little buttons in the iFlyGPS simulation.)  So, nothing fancy is required, and my question is real basic:  is the simulated flying occurring 100% on the Windows screen, or 100% on the iFlyGPS screen, or is the iFlyGPS just another device "in the cockpit" when the simulation is showing on the Windows screen?  That's what I can't get my head around.  Thanks!

P.S.  And any comment/suggestion about a better low-cost stick/throttle would be appreciated.

(Apologies to forum users... I would have taken this off-line if I had Brolin's email.)

I, for one, am eagerly waiting for the answers to your questions - I had not even thought to ask them myself.

So, thank you for keeping it on the forum.

No worries, this is one of those things that I could talk all day about! haha

So in terms of sticks, there's a TON of different options... If you want to go HOTAS (Hand on Throttle and Stick) your search will pretty much stop at Thrustmaster. Saitek is going to be a little more expensive and Virpl is the absolute best, and you'll quite a premium for it.

Here's a HOTAS Warthog link if you like doing combat flight sim stuff like DCS World - modeled after the throttle and stick of an A-10C - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...JTJ22FEJ14GHW13

For low cost stick, I actually have this one and it's been fine https://www.amazon.com/ThrustMaster-2...nics&sr=1-2

However, if you want to be in the middle this is a great option, toohttps://www.amazon.com/ThrustMaster-2...c4-3e7a9c0027d0

Hi Walter,

I can't get x-plane 11 connect to iFly GPS app on my iPhone or iPad, and I have updated to iFly GPS version 11, the latest!

X-plane 11 Running on Windows 10 64bit pro and good desktop!

Both the PC and ipad and iphone are all on the same WIFI, and the X-plane 11 network is broadcating to "all mapping apps on the network"!

Please advise!

Thanks,

Robert,

Have you been able to display iFly GPS while in VR? I also have an Oculus Rift S. I have tried using MoveVR to import the display of the iFly GPS into X-Plane, but it does not show up in the list of windows to import, so it cannot be selected. I suspect it is due to the app not having a application name set that would show in the application title bar, it also doesn't show when you hover over the app in the task bar. I have submitted a support request, but haven't hear a solution yet.

If there is another solution I would be happy to try that. I wonder if AirServer and MoveVR would work together?

I'm in the trial period right now and if this was fixed, would signup for a subscription right away.

-Freeman
