Frank,

This is hard to debug.  It's a simple protocol, xPlane is broadcasting a message to the network (UDP).  If iFly sees the message it will enter xPlane simulation mode. For some reason the message isn't getting to some of your devices - if they are on a different wifi network, or if they have some sort of firewall app or another app that is intercepting the mssage, this could cause the issue.  Are these devices also connected to cell network by chance?

Color me a bit confused (partially uneducated re: X-Plane, but mostly confused).  The query above about " Does this mean that it will only work on an iPad and not on a droid? " didn't seem to be answered.  But more importantly, I do not own X-Plane but am interested in purchasing it and making it work with iFlyGPS.  So, would anyone care to give me a concise synopsis of what parts (h/w and s/w) are involved and how I get up and running with X-Plane and iFlyGPS?

xPlane simulation works on all our platforms - it works fine on iPad too.

Somebody on this group might be able to give you more info on xPlane, I'm personally not very versed in it.  But you might also check the xPlane website for details.

Hey Robert -

This is a pretty subjective question... I can run XP11 on my Surface tablet here in the office, but obviously it won't run well.

My home rig is one I custom built with the following specs:

i7 6600k
32 gb RAM
nVidia 1080ti
2 tb hard drive
500gb SSD

It runs beautifully on my machine, but also keep in mind that I pair it with an Oculus VR headset.

Realistically speaking, pretty much any "performance" or "gaming" desktop will run xp11.

In terms of hardware, I have the Thrustmaster T-Rudder, Saitek Proflight yoke with throttle quadrant, and also have the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog for combat flight sim time.

I hope this helps, and let me know if you run into any issues, or need any suggestions of addons!

All four units configured idetically and connected to to the same network, all run ifly flawlessly except in this one instance.  Not a show stopper but a minor irritation! i need to spend more time on it. Any suggestions on how to resolve it would be gratefully received.
