I just remembered...

The last time we saw this you found that LG uses a different format for Lat/Lon. This was a couple of years ago. I was having this issue with my LG tablet and you did a patch to allow different Lat/Log formats.

I wish I could remember the specifics.

The LG Gpad is a bit long in the tooth so I don't know if LG is still supporting it.

I'm going to suggest he buy a TAB A 8" from Samsung. It doesn't have these issues.

Probably not worth the grief to get this to work with IFLY. 

He can still use it with Google Maps and other GPS dependent Apps.

I'm in agreement.  Maybe we should just let this one be.  It seems like something that would impact very few users, and would be resolved with use of a Stratux (or other ADSB device).
