Downloaded the 30 day VFR trial version to my new ASUS ZenPad model P01M (Z580C) tablet. It has Android version 6.0.1.

The tablet shows " No GPS Position Locked" with Ifly GPS running. Google Map cannot find my GPS position either. I installed a GPS diagnostic app, confirmed no satellites being acquired

I did a factory reset which wiped the IFly app, now I have the tablet's GPS function immediately working fine. I installed the IFly app once more, now same error...No GPS Position Fix", no Google Map location seen from GPS.

I like the app and am I'm interested in buying the annual subscription, but not if it won't work on my tablet. Help please, any ideas?

Jerry

Greetings, and thank you for trying us out. In short, if you can't get the GPS position to work with Google Maps, there is little chance of it working with any other application. My understanding here is that you can't even get it working with Google Maps, correct?

The issue you are having seems to be with the tablet itself (hardware or firmware), and should be first resolved with the manufacturer or via forums for this device. Once you fix the core issue, then it should work well with iFly GPS as well.

There are a few GPS test tools on the Play Store that you can download to help diagnose the problem.

Thanks for the reply, Brian.

Yes, Google Maps works once the tablet is factory reset, and IFly is not installed. Suggestions?

I have an ASUS Z580C also. (Mine is with the Intel processor with LP. I didn't update to MM because I would lose root.) iFly works fine with it.

Could it be a Permission thing with MM?

Just talked to ASUS tech support. Their response... since tablet's GPS and Google Map works properly with IFly app not installed, they are pointing me back to contact app provider (IfLY) to troubleshoot.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start?
