I finally got the NMEA custom output connected to my Trutrak vizion autopilot, formerly used by Avare and bluetooth Nmea with Android tablet. Today I was using windows 10 on a RCA Cambria 10.1"

The Trutrak reported "GPS OK". However once in the air I discovered there was no "activate flight plan" button or option. But the proper course line appeared so I turned on the autopilot.

I could not make the airplane follow the course line and it just seemed to cause the autopilot to wander all over the place.

Unless someone can correct my use of I fly I will try it with a different laptop. I also did not to remember if the heading data on the autopilot corresponded to the Ifly heading.

I should have pointed out that I use the BU353W10 location sensor made especially for win 10. It works directly with win10 location software and therefore does not need a program that transfers a com port to win10 location.

In my troubled flight today I had all solid green bars.

My Windows 10 Surface Pro 4 works fine with iFly GPS but I am using a BU-353S4 with GPSComplete.

I took the gps and ifly out in the car today and it was lost. It new where I was because the airplane icon was in the right place and new the distance to kdab. And course line correct. But the track and bearing data was completely not updated. When I loaded ifly bearing said 1 degree. I travelled for a few miles and turned around and the bearing DID not change.

I think the problem is accessing the location data in windows 10.
1. I am using the new product BU353W10. It installs as a
SENSOR as seen in windows Device Manager and not as a COM port. Google EARTH has a GPS tool and it looks for NMEA data on COM ports and not as a sensor. So it never found mine.
2. Despite having all green bars the data may not be available to Ifly. In APPS>>Permissions there is a list of apps "that have access to windows precise location information." Maps is listed there, but not IFLY.

3. The person who responded to my earlier post said he was using GPS Complete. I do not think it will work with the BUe53w10 sensor driver. But I will use my old Bu353 and see if that helps. I will also try with a Lenovo laptop that seems to have a stronger GPS than the 10" RCA Cambio Tablet/Laptop.

4. Happy to hear that it works with surface
(But with GpsComplete).

5. I fly might examine the way it calls the GPS so it will use w10 location sensor.

What works even better is to get a Stratux ADS-B device with GPS and connect your Windows 10 computer to the Stratux via WIFI. That works flawlessly.
