Anyone  suggest a link to get a  "heavy duty " power  USB to " i believe" android micro  about  18 inches long. I'm using the cord to continously power the  device with master on.  I understand the wire guage should be 24 guage  and as short as possible for that service.  I believe that  24 guage wire is good for 2 amps  as opposed to most the standard  USB charging/ data  cables.

I don't think it's hard to get adequate power to the Stratux as long as you use decent quality stuff.  I use this combo and it has worked well for many moons.  It is certainly not the only combo that will work well:

I've been using this since the cheap wire didn't work:

It has 21 AWG power wires.

Why don't you wire it to a 3 amp circuit breaker or thru a 3 amp in-line fuse? Then you don't have to worry about lack of current. The Stratux will take 24 volts or at least mine has for 3 years. There is supposed to be a power converted internal.  The wires in the power cord supplied with my Stratus appears to be 28 wire but may be 24.

Here is what I use.   It's a read hard wire adapter with a 12 volt to 5 volt power converter built in.   I put an in-line fuse and came off the avionics bus.
