I am still waiting to see the SkyBeacon (wingtip) STC issued.  The TailBeacon would follow that.

Thanks Rich....any idea why the hold-up persists?

They do state they have completed all test flying, just waiting for the FAA to push out the final paper.

On another note, they report they are coming out with a fairing to fit the Cessna Drooped wingtips...

I thought it was interesting the 182P is not listed.  I dont think my wingtips are any different from the 182Q.  But it does not mater to me as I have a Stratus ESG sitting in a box for my 182.  Now if they could produce a fairing to work with my Grumman Yankee.....

Rich,

Wow, the fairing idea is a good one...glad they are doing that, but I am sure it will have to be an additional charge.

I do not have the droop wing, so it does not apply to me, and besides, I would like the tail unit, but this is an interesting developement.

Great to see them working among the type airplanes to make this initial installation go smoothly. The word will spread pretty fast once these hit the streets soon, so everything they can do to help them be installed easier and faster will be a big plus. Thanks for posting!

I got an e-mail from Uavonix yesterday that says the final STC paperwork is with the feds for signature, and the Cessna fairing will run $100 each.  They are coming out with a matching right wingtip light, and in the future plan to offer the right tip light with ADSB in.  That is already available for Experimentals.  The Tail Beacon will probably not be approved now until Q1 2019.  It says they hit another bump in the road, they had to make a change and go back and redo a bunch of the testing.  This is what has delayed getting the STC.

Thanks Rich,

Great update in terms of real, usable information...appreciate it.

Disappointed about the tail unit...was hoping to get that purchased AND installed before the refund expired, but looking less likely now.

I will still wait for the tail unit as that is my preferance.  We will wait and see how close we can cut it to the 2020 deadline!
