Thanks for letting us know...

My opinion: This is still a tremendous value!

For those of us who have been flying for a while, we remember the cost of all the VFR sectional and IFR low charts and approach plates and TAC charts for urban areas... we would have to keep current and continually turn-over...for $129.99, this is still a tremendous value.

This IFly device (GPS, digitalized charts, electronic flight computing, navigation, SA, weather, traffic, approaches, geo-referenced maps)  is the single greatest improvement I have seen in flying/aviation since I started flying in 1976.

Having been an aerial navigator and pilot, military and civilain, I can remember the MANY hours and DAYS I would spend planning a long cross-country somewhere....now it can be done in minutes, done more reliably, and can be dynamically changed now that weather is actually on the screen!

As far as flight safety goes, this is also a tremendous improvement..seeing traffic, weather, having all the taxi diagrams with my plane moving on them....just takes all the anxiety out of the mission. (Yep, try taxiing around Dulles Intl without something like IFly -- you better have a good co-pilot!)

I'm still a solid subcriber and will remain so - I would imagine many feel the same way.

Price increases are a fact of life.  The differnece here is, you guys are ALWAYS improving this product so we know the capital re-investment is going to eventually directly benefit us pilots!

"As a result, as of January 25th we will be increasing our basic VFR subscription rate to $79.99, and our IFR rate to $129.99. Our Multi-Platform Option will be increased to $24.99.."

Darn, Walter.....

You could have at least accomodated my old wish and raised to a nice honest even $80, . sad  Been an industry leader in marketing style instead of a follower. wink

Yeah, I know, we already beat this dead horse.... but I couldn't resist another try.

Nice try!  I'm on board with that idea.  But the marketing gurus have spoken.  :-)

BTW.... I fully echo the sentiment that it's worth every cent of the $80 (Sorry, I refuse to call it $79wink ) and more.

Yeah, Walt... I know about the marketing gurus. I've had indepth conversations with one on this topic, and he acknowledged, finally, that the evidence that consumers actually will buy more of a product priced a just below the whole round figure is equvocal. For example, some evidence that it might have some sales value on some consumers for a $8.98 bottle of wine and even some for a $18,950 compact car. But I find it beyond belief that any pilot would, for example, make the decision of iFly vs Forflight over a $1 difference... marketing gurus notwithstanding. If there are some, thier judgement ability is so flawed that I don't see how they ever passed their last flight review. wink

Glad to hear you're basically aligned with my sentiments.... Maybe next time you need to raise price or add a new product in the shop you might experiment with a even dollar figure.

Thanks for iFly and all your work and support.

Alex
