I have 740b mounted in portrait mode in an airgizmo dock in my panel. When IFly boots up the home screen is stuck in landscape mode. Is there a way to change this?  My map mode is correctly in portrait mode but the other stuff is not. Certainly there is a way to do this?

Ben,

To change your iFly device from landscape to portrait.

'Menu' --> 'Setup' --> 'Screen/Audio Settings' --> 'Screen Orientation'

From here you should be able to rotate the screen.

What we 740 and 740b portrait-mode users need is for the entire system to boot up in portrait mode. We never use landscape mode when the 740 is mounted in the airplane.

Furthermore, it looks really flaky while booting up. Several passengers have commented unkindly about this display:

And imagine trying to make a 740 connect to a new wifi router or download data when it's in portrait orientation. You either have to tilt your head sideways, or take the device out of the panel or dock and rotate it manually.

Yes, please fix this.  I have my 740b mounted in portrait and I get tired of seeing the main screen come up sideways.

That's probably not something that can be altered without a firmware change, and based on past history, firmware changes on these devices are not trivial. I suspect they're not wholly under Adventure Pilot's control and involve the hardware vendor, making it more complicated (and possibly costly) for AP to implement.
