It would be nice if Airport Info included the name of the sectional in which that airport is located. Some of us still buy the occasional sectional, especially for long trips. If the Additional Airport Remarks section just listed the name of the applicable sectional, it would make it easier to know which paper sectionals to purchase. The occasional "Joins ___" printed on the digital sectionals are not sufficient for this purpose. Thanks.

Click the ICON in the lower left corner of your screen that looks like 3 pages overlapping. It is just above the target ICON. Select the Sectional chart and click Browse Map Legends...

At the top of the screen you should find "View Legend for "Sectional: Charlotte" etc.

Thanks, Tim. I had forgotten about this resource and I appreciate the help you provided. It's not  perfect, but it is helpful even if a bit tedious. One has to zoom in sufficient to have only the correct sectional option pop-up. Otherwise, one can get 2 or 3 options if the screen overlaps multiple sectionals. When near the edge of two sectionals in IFLY, it's difficult to tell how much leeway there is between an airport in one sectional and the beginning of the next sectional. Knowing the distance to the nearby sectional boundary is helpful in determining whether it is prudent to buy the extra sectional just in case one must subsequently deviate unexpectably. I found another app (myflightbook.com) that provides a chart finder capability. Creating a "from - to" flight plan will generate a line across depicted sectionals and a listing of each sectional and TAC which the flight passes through. It's easy to see how close a given airport is to the edge of a sectional. That app does not permit multiple legs, only a single from-to scenario. But it did the trick. There are probably other resources too, so a change in IFLY to better address this issue isn't really necessary. But it's amazing how users of IFLY come to rely on it as a single source of information--it's just that good.

I used to also keep current paper Sectional charts in my flight bag while using iFly GPS electronic charts. I later gained enough confidence in electronic charts that I no longer purchase or carry paper charts. I have iFly GPS loaded on my iPad Mini 4 and iPhone, both always with current charts. I also have another app loaded on both devices, with current electronic charts. I figure that is more than enough redundancy for VFR flying.

For armchair flying at home, I have iFly GPS loaded on my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with current VFR and IFR low altitude charts and approach plates for the entire US. I no longer fly IFR.

Kenneth, just out of curiosity: in myflightbook.com I used the "Map a route" feature for two *very* distant airports so the route spanned 3 sectionals, but I don't see the sectional info displayed anywhere on the map or below.  What am I msssing?  Or did you go about it a different way?
