26 Dec led a FIVE SHIP formation to Frederick, MD (KFDK) and tower cleared us for a formation landing - iFly Airport Diagrams helped keep things straight as on departure we were cleared to cross another active runway with a gaggle of planes - THANKS!

Hello Michael,

How did you display the satellite view WITH the taxiway designators ?

Hi Jeff,

On the little "setting gear" on the right side of the screen, there is an option to go more or less opaque or not....I play with it until I have the diagram looking like it is above so I get the best of both worlds - the satellite photo AND the airport diagram.  Very handy in places where there are OLD taxiways not being used that can cause some confusion.

I fly into a lot of OLDER airports where it is very easy to "bite off" on a wrong turn at an older taxiiway. In fact, I recently heard/saw a controller absolutely rip into a student pilot for getting stuck in the middle of an airport on a paved section of the airfield that was actually an old, obsolete taxiway.

This is where the combination of the photo and diagram are very helpful to me.

Additionally, I with ADSB on, I can often times see other planes TAXIING near me, which is really good for turning and seeing them in BLIND SPOTS to avoid a ground collision - thanks iFly!

Great question, thanks for asking.

Nice to have ADSB traffic on the iFly airport diagrams to see other traffic on the ground...sometimes airports get really busy and it is nice to know what the best EXIT from a runway would be to help ATC with the traffic flow.

Having a light aircraft, I can just about pick any one of the exits to use while in flight with a spot landing and short rollout - happened yesterday with the aid of the iFly airport diagrams and ADSB to ID planes on the ground...another useful feature.

REAL VIEW vs. Airfield Diagram View...

Which do you prefer and why?
