You Stratux antenna should be vertical for best reception.

Another try at seeing how I could use SV to try to get below a solid deck to land....used it to get 200-100 feet above the field elevation which is below IFR minimums.

BTW, this was done in VMC...just for demo purposes. 

 

I actually got pretty close, and far below mins of 1200'....so this could work - in an absolute pinch where you had NO other options and it came down to using this technique.
