iPad Mini 4 works great for me as does my iPhone 6S Plus.  I was an Android fan before I purchased my first iPhone.  If I owned my own airplane again, I would purchase an iFly 740 and have it panel mounted and use iPad Mini as secondary/backup.

I use both in my Zenith XL 601b. I have a sun screen on my Ipad mini 4 I bought from aircraft Spruce. I mostly use the Ipad where it is just inches from my eyes on my canopy and the Ifly740B on the panel. I have the Stradux ADSB in. I also have the Bad Elf GPS for my ipad mini. I feel quite safe now in my plane. I also have a hand held nav/con along with a panel mount Garmin nav/com that I have never used the VOR or GPS portion of the radio. I have a small fan installed on the back of my Ipad mini cradle I purchased from Sporty and I've never had my Ipad overheat.

Why not connect your iPad to your Stratux via WIFI so you will have traffic and weather on your iPad?
