Thanks. That edit sounds consistent with the intent of my original question. My understanding reading the Stratus 3 manual is that Horizon Pro needs to be used on each Stratus power cycle to configure the Straus 3 into GDL mode. So I agree that once done, any wifi capable platform running iFly would work, but if there is no iDevice available in the plane, we can't connect Stratus 3 to iFly Android. So it sounds like when selecting "Stratus III" on the iFly connected device page, iFly assumes that the Stratus is already in GDL mode and iFly cannot or does not configure the Stratus 3 into GDL mode by itself, correct? But I guess there is the suggestion that FltPlanGo DOES configure the Stratus 3 withOUT going through horizon pro. Would be good to know if that's true or if there are other strategies folks are using.

If you haven't read through the thread I pointed to earlier, I recommend it:  http://www.iflygps.com/Support/Forum/...ope/posts#34528.  In one of the posts, it mentions that launching FltPlan GO will also change the Stratus 3 setting required to make iFly work, and FltPlan GO is avaialble on Android, so that may be an option.

Also, it's not clear that the setting needs to be changed every power cycle.

Regardless, it does seem like something of a hassle if you're not using their "preferred" app....

This brings up a question for the iFly team.  Have you asked Appareo for the ability to have iFly automatically turn the Stratus 3 to the proper configuration for iFly to utilize their signal?  That would seem to be the simplest for all concerned.

We actually attempted to do this for 10.3.   It's on my short-list to figure out what went wrong and make it actually work for 10.4; so hopefully we'll get this worked out very soon, just as you suggested.

If I am reading responses correctly to my ask about AHRS for IFLY...

I understand that a Stratus unit will work with the Synthetic Vision screen on IFLY so I would have a stable presentation?

So IFLY will "listen" to the WiFi from both my ADSB and the Stratus?
