Hi,

I am currently using a Nexus 7 tablet for Ifly.  It seems to be fine, but it is getting long in the tooth and is running an older version of Andriod.  I was wondering what the current best 7 inch Android tablet is on the market for running Ifly.

Thanks,

Sean

I think (According to a few articles I have read about this) the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 has one of the best ratings of 7 inch tablets currently on the market right now, but I think I will leave some of those answers to other people on the forum with more Android tablet experiences.

If you are looking for a device that will scrictly be for flying, then I would stongly reccomend the 740b unit that we sell.  it is a 7 inch device with built in WAAS GPS, and a CPU that is designed to run our software.

I still have a 2013 Nexus 7 that I used for iFly GPS. It worked fine at the time. For the past few years, I have used an Apple iPad Mini 4. Having used both Android and Apple phones and tablets, I will never go back to Android.

When I retired my beloved 2013 Nexus 7, I moved up to a Samsung Tab S2.  It's an 8" tablet, but I liked its form factor a little better--was a closer match to the size of approach plates, so they fit on the screen a little better.  (I wouldn't recommend the S2 since it's getting kind of old now too, but unless you're married to the 7" size, I recommend considering an 8".  At the time I chose the S2, there were many more 8" tablets to choose from than 7" ones, but I'm not sure if that's the case today.)

I think that is very well put from Cobra.  The 7" tablet is a greater thing, but there is not too much of a market for them anymore, so even opening up 1 more inch would open up your options.
