I am trying to make a new/standby SD card for my iFly 740.   I have done this successfully in the past, but today iFly Connect in my Windows 10 computer will not recognize a virgin 16Gb SD card.  The Windows 10 system recognizes it ok and I can format it, but iFly Connect says that there is no SD card.   Why is that?  Must it be labeled in a certain way, or does Connect require the file structure to be in place?  In other words, will it only work with an SD card out of my 740, or will it also work with a newly formatted card?

Here are the steps to build a new iFly GPS SD card from a blank:

  1. Download this file:  www.iflygps.com/downloads/sdmmcdisk.zip
  2. Unzip the contents of this file to your computer
  3. From the unzipped files, copy all the files & folders under the \MinSDCard folder to the root of your new SD card
  4. When complete, there will be approximately 15 folders on the root of your SD card, starting with \AptDiagrams
  5. Insert the SD card into your iFly and power on the unit
  6. Launch the navigation program once on the iFly device to "bind" it to the device and create the license file
  7. Update the card as you normally would using iFly Connect, WiFi, or using the Download Package method

Thanks.   As I surmised, the card needs qualifying information on it.   That will work for me.
