My Windows 10 computer never gets confused about which WIFI device it is connected to.  Now, if it were to lose the WIFI signal, it might then connect to another one, but it never loses the Stratux connection.

You've lost me on item number 2. How is the RPi connected to the local eithernet network?

Are you setting the IP of the Stratux box to a static IP on your LAN and connecting the stratux to the LAN via Wifi?

I currently connect via WiFi from my Desktop to the Straux, same as I would sitting in the airplane.

Also connected via Eithernet to the home network at the same time.  Never had an issue.  Windows 10.

But your solution is sounds interesting.

As far as I know a computer can only connect to one WIFI network at a time. You can connect your computer to your home network to update data and download weather, etc. or you can connect your computer to the Stratux WIFI network. One or the other, but not both.
