It's nice to have the new fading options because I like having the buttons fully visible, at the expense of some map real estate. But it seems that the function of tapping the screen for the distance and heading has been affected; the info box and options button either doesn't disappear, or takes a very long time to do so. It would be great to be able to adjust this option....I like to tap it, see quickly how far I am from that point, and then have it disappear.

Robert,

You may be noticing the markers can sometimes take longer to fade - this is unrelated to the new button fading option. When you are not in motion, and/or you are not panning around the map, those markers will stay around a little longer. This is not a design decision...it's just a fluke of how the code is written. The code that determines it's time to remove a marker fires when the map is being rendered. I've modified this a bit in the upcoming bug-fix version that changes this behavior.

Thanks,
Walter
