Walter -

I think my problem was caused by the specific flash drive I was using. When I inserted the flash drive and booted the iFly, it would go directly to "Loading data and initializing moving map" without asking I wanted to install the update. Moments later, the "esectional.exe" error would pop. I worried that I would not be able to do updates at all.

Because no one else was complaining about this, I figured that the problem was on my end and so tried an alternate flash drive. Everything works fine now. I was able to do updates with version 5.14 both ways, (1) boot after inserting the flash drive AND (2) accessing "Check for update file" from the menu.

After successful updates on 5.14, I installed the 5.15 beta and am happy to fly-test it if you would like.

It appears that my issue was with the flash drive I was using. That may explain why you can't reproduce the error. What I don't understand is why this relatively new (~ 1 year old) flash drive that worked fine with the iFly since I purchased it suddenly started having problems. It still works fine with my PC.

Walter,

I was able to get the updates done. I used three different flash drives to finally get them completed. Now it seems intermitent. Soemtimes I could get it to "find" the flash drive when the unit was already on and sometimes upon initial boot.

Kris, Even with 5.15 not every USB stick will be supported. We recommend a 4gb or less, and the format should be FAT or FAT16 (not FAT32). The most consistent way of installing an update should be to boot up the iFly, then insert the USB stick and press Menu / Check For Update. If you continue to have problems using your sticks you might consider purchasing one from our store - these have been very thoroughly tested and are guaranteed to be compatible.

Thanks!
Walter
