I've had this 700 since the beginning and updates have brought me to version 10....not so sure everything has been helpful but progress is what it is. I'm still stymied by the time which refuses to remain on eastern time despite being set to eastern with daylight savings time enabled. I can't ever remember how to fix it because its not in a place where non computer types would look...like in the setup. Every update screws it up and always has and I have to come here to figure out how to fix it.

A new problem has popped up where I select the menu from the nav screen and have it look for updates but it says it has to shut down to look for updates.....this is new. The last version I remember would go to the usb and find the update then install. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Frank,

Sorry you are having problems.

Issue #1: The Time Zone is set from the system setup menu, not the iFly app.  So if you are in the app touch Menu -> Exit Application -> Shutdown, this will return you to the system menu.  Touch Setup from there, and you should be able to find the time zone.  If this is really changing on it's own, something very strange is going on with your unit.  It should only change when you change it, app updates shouldn't be able to affect this.

Issue #2: The procedure for updating the 700 has always been to shut down the navigation app to look for the USB updates, I don't think this has changed in many years.

Hope this helps,

Walter
