I wasn't aware of this option.  I always just powered down the Stratux.  After about 9 months use, it corrupted the microSD card.  I had to reflash it to get it to work again.

After 9 months there's usually an update or two anyway.

Doing an update or reflashing a corrupted card are very much different task. I never update mine because it works perfectly with iFly, so why mess with success?

Johnny, I share that same mindset...

I will update my charts and update my IFly App, but typically do not update the STRATUX unless it is giving me issues, which it has NOT for months now...if it is working, I leave it alone...

I typically update regularly. But then again, I also run the lastes iOS, Windows build, Android distrubtion and EFB app versions.

Reflashing takes about 10 minutes while I'm playing in online forums :D Or, I open one of the other EFBs which does it for me. But I guess it's not for everyone.
