Warning, stupid question coming.

I've installed a uAvionix tailBeacon and having issues getting a PAPR report stating 'Your Performance Report request for... ...failed to generate a result.' I've troubleshoot and rewired and replace connectors and getting the same result.

Since AP and uAvionix are at SnF, they're not on phone support this week.

One question I have is, how do I get Stratux and tailBeacon to play nice, or how can I have the in of Stratux and the out of tailBeacon to show traffic.

The Stratux and tailBeacon are using different SSID's and iFly (I presume) will only connect to one network and one device.

Anyone using a Stratux and a 'out' device together?

It would seem to me that if the Tailbeacon has WiFi it likely is ADS-B in, as well as out, which would mean you don’t need the Stratux.

That aside, I don’t understand how any ADS-B In device could affect an FAA ADS-B test.

I don't know anything about the Tailbeacon except what I've read online in the last 5 minutes, but it looks to me like it's only an ADSB-out device, and it also looks to me like the only time you need to connect to its wi-fi is during the initial setup process (to turn on the transmit function, set your tail number and other plane details, and set what ADSB-in frequencies you receive).  That should be a one-time setup that's done on the ground, and then you don't ever have to connect to that wifi ever again (unless you ever need to change or repeat the initial setup for some reason).

So, have you properly done that, and confirmed that the settings "stick"?

If "yes", then it should just be doing its own thing and you shouldn't have to connect to its wifi anymore.  So go fly, connect your iFly device to the Stratux, and that's it.

From your description it sounds like that initial setup has not yet been properly performed.

The tailBeacon is an ADSB Out only unit. Cobra you are right about WiFi setup configuration. There are a few other settings such as Aircraft Length and the Width, distance from the nose to tailBeacon and a Transponder Monitor Threshold. Stall Speed.

One problem with configuring the tailBeacon (and SkyBeacon) you have to use their app, the app won't let you access the configuration page unless the tailBeacon is on. There is a uAvionix youtube video about the Transponder Monitor Threshold adjustment, so it could be I may need to adjust again the threshold.

A friend can track me with aprs so he knows where I am in flight. Using FlightRadar24 he has seen just a couple of hits from ADSB.

But, But, But...isn't ADSB In and Out suppose to compliment or show 'more' and/or be able to use both together?

Yes, but that has nothing to do with having both on the same wifi network.  It has to do with your Out device pinging an FAA tower and having it respond with messages that your In device can receive.  That's why one of the items you set in your Out device is what In frequencies you can receive, so the tower knows what traffic targets to re-send to you (the ones you can't get directly air-to-air from the targets themselves) and what frequency to send them on.
