Hi Tim.

By "drift" do you mean the Stratux slowly loses track of where the level horizon is and if you followed it without recalibrating it would have you flying banked?

Is recalibration like a 5 minute no brainers (sometimes I have no brains <g>) or does one have to take a 2 year ground school to master it. ;-)

Yes that is what is meant by drift.  A recalibration is a very easy process, and will only take about 30 seconds.

Yes, it gradually will start leaning to one side or the other. To recalibrate to level flight, you tap on the artificial horizon instrument and tap recalibrate Stratux or recalibrate iFly. However, you need to be in level flight when you do this.

Hi Don.....

Did you mean that failing to do an orderly shutdown is what corrupted the SD card? Is there an SD card in the Statux, or are you talking abiyt the SD card in your iFly?

(By the way: I keep a duplicate (cloned) SD card for my iFly. Rotate the one at home with the one in the aircraft... So have a backup.)

Yes, the operating system in the Stratux expects a proper stuhdown process. The OS is on a microSD card, and that card can be corrupted without the proper shutdown process. I was lucky for a year or so, then had two instances where the card was corrupted, requiring re-writing the OS to the card.

I also carry cloned spare cards for both the iFly 740 and the Stratux, though my Stratux is mounted under the panel and is not easy to get to for a card change (yes- remote antenna on the belly and ship's power).

".....If you have an AHRS module ($15.00) in your Stratux, there is no lag when flying....."

That would seem to me like a no-brainer to add that. Thanks for that tip.
