Hi folks,

Our aircraft came with an iFly 720. We like the UI and features. We are considering upgrading to a 740b for quicker user interface response.

What is the user-perceived performance of the 740b compared to the 720?

Thank you,

Ihab

I don't have a 740, but I'm sure others will pipe up with their personal experiences.  But don't forget that the same great iFly software is also available on Android, iOS, and Windows, so you also have that wide range of devices available to you.

iFly GPS works great for me on an iPad Mini 4.

Thank you folks! ... The thing about the iFly device is that (a) it docks into our airplane conveniently; and (b) it has a bright LCD whereas iPads and commodity Android devices are hard to read in an LSA with lots of windows everywhere and bright sunlight.

I replaced a 720 with the 740 a few years ago, and IIRC, it is more responsive. I also carry an Android tablet (that replaced an iPad Mini) and the 740 is very noticably brighter and easier to read in sunlight. Or to put it another way, I've never had an issue seeing the 740 (other than a direct reflextion on it) and often times can't read the Android. I've never seen a 740b ...
