Got quite a few precise custom precise waypoints in the iPad that I put there while driving on the ground.

how do I move/add them to the 740?

(I could get the 740 and the ipad onto WiFi ....but getting the 740 onto WiFi at all , although possible, is a bit of a PITA as it requires taking it out of the plane. So directions for doing some sort of sync over WiFi helpful....But prefer if possible some other method.   I can easily get the iPad on same WiFi network with my Windows iFy. Can I maybe sync the waypoints to Windows iFly than computer cpy them from the Windows iFly file’s onto the 740's SD card?)

Can't you simply use the iFly GPS sync function. Each device will need an internet connection, but not at the same time or place.

A cellular hotspot is easy enough.

.....

Hi Tim.

 Thanks for the reply.

Yes I can do that. Might do it.

But (a) it's a bit of a PITA To remove the 740 from the plane,  take it to the Wi-Fi hotspot, Guinness ink, take it back to the plane. ...Also (b) I'm still unclear about exactly what get's synced and what might get overwritten in which device during a uncertain.. For example...Say I finally got  any instruments customized the weather like on the 740: If I sync with the iPad will the insurance settings on the iPad this place when I have on the 740? Or will the instrument settings from the 740 show up on the iPad? Or what? That's second reason I hesitate to use sync.

So that's why I'd rather have a manual "copy files X and Y from locatiin A on the Windows iFly to same location on the SD card".." sort of procedure.
