When you tap on an airport or VOR, the Options button appears, which then allows you to add the airport or VOR as a waypoint in your current flight plan. This does not seem to work for intersections, or am I doing something wrong?

When adding a waypoint as described above, sometimes the waypoint appears in the unintended order in the flight plan. In these cases, a better way to add a waypoint would be to touch the route line and drag it to the new waypoint. I have not been able to get the new waypoint to snap to an airport, VOR or intersection though. It would be helpful if it did this or if a menu popped up asking if the waypoint should be placed on a known nearby navigation waypoint.

Jon, your analysis is correct: Intersections are not given as options when clicking the map. Also dragging a route line always results in a lat/lon waypoint, it will not pin to an airport or navaid. Both of these features will be added to a future release.

Thanks,

Walter

Walter, I know very little about computers and software (although I've been flying for 45 years). That said, I came across APIC Approach software and was wondering if it could be an option for geo-referenced approach plates, should the FAA delay or deny use of it's data?

Hi Allen, strange topic for this thread. But bottom line is I don't know where APIC get's there georeference data, but I'm pretty sure they are not building it themselves. They don't seem to have any offered options to distribute that data via 3rd parties.

Walter, thanks for responding so quickly. Hopefully the FAA will see no problem with the use of their geo-referenced approach plates. Just having the plates as they are is a great convenience.

Thanks,

Allen
