In some instances the layouts got scrambled from v9 to v10...this is certainly not by design.  Version 10 allows you to sync all this data to the server, but v9 did not.  So now, if it ever happens again (or if you need to replace your SD card, or your unit, etc), you have a way to restore your settings and layouts.

Hi Walter.

I'm a "manual transmission" kind of guy. Is there a folder or file on the SD card that I can specifically save that contains my instrument layouts, so I can back them up by hand, and sync (or not sync) them myself between SD cards or after updates?

I know the whole user folder can be manually saved for backups or sync between iFlys, but that's a bit more heavy handed than I like.

Any chance of a table of exactly what in the user folder is where?

That is "for instruments, save file XXXX."    "For flight plans save file YYY"  Etc. ?

Alex,

The User folder is pretty small, I recommend that approach.  We frequently change file names & formats with new versions (helps to maintain bakcward compatiability when adding new features), so whatever file you backed up today might not work tomorrow.  But the User folder isn't going anywhere - this will always be where we store User specific data.

Thanks Walter.

Yeah.... I can manually copy entire user folders easily.  (The exception is, of course the iPad, which Job in his wisdomfrown made opaque).

And I'll do that.
