Flying from Colorado to Texas last Friday I noticed the touch screen wasn't working quite right, especially the little keypad for typing in the waypoints. I kept on getting letters above my finger, not under, so I had to intentionally miss the key on the screen to get the correct letter.  Some of the touch buttons at the bottom of the screen just refused to work at all.

Now at home, and unable to fix it because the screen appears to think I am touching about 3/4 inch higher than I actually am doing.  So all of the buttons at the bottom of the iFly navigation screen are not usable.  On downloads, it thinks I am touching about 3 lines higher.  Similarily, attempting to get to the tools / calibrate touch screen -- no luck.  I bet someone has an easy solution.  The good news is that I have no flights planned for the next 8 days.

The unit was not used for about two months prior to last Friday's trip.  But it was working just fine on that flight two months ago.  Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Update - - the fifth time I repowered the unit at home, I was able to get to the touch calibration screen.  I touched the target and it moved, so I completed the center touch and four corners touch successfully.   ... And then did the entire sequence five more times and it would not leave the touch calibration screen.   So ... unplugged again.

Now a button at the bottom of the map screen worked, but once into flight plan, those bottom buttons don't know I am there.  Got into the large flight profile / elevation of terrain screen somehow, but when I touch "Close" at the bottom, the "Options" button activates.  Seems to still be off about a 3/4 inch on the touch.  Tried the "wrap around" theory by touching the very top of the screen .... no joy.

There is an old thread here somewhere (at least 2 years ) that covers this problem.  The 720 has a known problem of losing its calibration. A temporary solution is to power the unit up, lay it face down, and keep it powered up overnite. Seriously. The fix is to have the display replaced, but I think that the same problem can come back. The ultimate solution is to upgrade to a 740 (either one). They use a different display that doesn't have this problem.

That's what happens when it's so out of callibration that it can't correct itself.  Had the same issue several years ago with a 720, and the "turn it on and place it face down on a table overnight" fixed it for me.
