I would like to be able to use 2 SD memory cards interchangeably for updating files. My plane is hangared 30 minutes away and I have a partner who flies the plane too. If I want to update via SD card, I have to bring he SD card home with me, update it, and then bring it all the way back same day unless I want to create a situation where IFly is INOP. So it would be nice if I had a 2nd IFly SD card for my 740b so I could leave one in the plane, and bring one back home for updates and then swap them out when I can. This doesn’t sound like it should be too hard to execute. Can some please advise if it can be done? USB update is not an attractive option because it takes so long to transfer big update files.

Thanks

You can use the free EaseUS ToDo Backup software to make a clone of your card.

I think it's as easy as taking blank SD card, and copying all the files from the original iFly SD card to the new one.

I don't know if the dedicated iFly units still support the "Streets" navigation app. (I have never used that feature), but if yours does, then that feature will not work with the second SD card using this method (it is somehow "locked" to the original SD card...I dunno how they do that).  Sounds like that may not be important to you, though, since the device always stays with the plane.

Cloning it should make an exact copy.

I don't know how the copy-protection for the Streets app works, but from past discussion on the subject here on this forum, even cloning the card does not carry over the copy protection.  YMMV.
