Good idea. It would be great to know when a drop zone is active.

I agree it's a great idea....but where do these data exist for iFly to consume/process/display them?

I think there are parachute icons on the sectionals, but I think that's as much data as there is, and iFly can't parse those graphics, so I'm not sure there's a mechanism for this idea to be implemented.

I believe you're probably right that it's not in the available data, at least not with 100% accuracy.  But if you look in the Additional Airport Remarks section for airports with parachute operations there are *ususally* remarks that start with "A110" with some phrasing that has the word "Parachute" in it.  So, to the extent that it's in the remarks section, iFly could use this information.

That being said: I looked at 5 airports with parachute operations and 3 of them had this remark and 2 didn't.  Using this method would generate complaints.

Of course, it could be that the airports with parachute symbols on the map that are are missing parachute remarks are not very/at all active operations sites and therefore did not see the need to have that comment.  They were small airports that I didn't even know had parachuting until I scanned the map for the symbols.

If you do have parachute operations, the FAA says it's usual that it's noted in the Airport Remarks section.  See section 3.3 of: http://www.tc.faa.gov/its/worldpac/techrpt/ar11-30.pdf

Question 11 of the Part 107 (drone) exam specifically says you'll find parachute operations documented in the Remarks section: https://dronelaunchacademy.com/part-1...tice-questions/
