I think if you somehow got caught in zero zero conditions, you could navigate to the largest runway available and have a reasonable chance of getting on the ground and living to talk about it. For me, it would be KATL. Of course, before I did that, I would get a precision radar approach into KMGE. I used to have fun practicing those on ocassion. "Start turn, stop turn," etc.
That does sound pretty fun (the PAR). Have not done one since I was in the military and was "in the soup" over East Anglia in the United Kingdom on a very typical foggy British evening!
I agree this COULD work in a pinch - have tried it enough to have confidence in it now. While I would NEVER deliberately put myself in that position, I know it can work.

What size tablet is that, and what kind of yoke mount do you have?
I think it is just a standard yoke mount (RAM product) to fit my tablet...nothing special. Seems to work ok.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A is the type of tablet I use...here it is in action just this weekend flying from N94 Carlisle, PA to KTGI Tangier Island, VA.
Seems to work fine...still too much glare for me, but these tablets are getting better.
Sorry it comes out sideways!
FLYING to an island destination 11-12 miles out into the Bay...best crab cakes in the world!
