Mike, are those private lots along the river bank?  That is an interesting place.  Does it have an identifier?

Ha!  So that's Sunbury airport! I've flown down the West Branch of the Susquehanna a couple of times from Hammondsport, but kept to the west of the town both times and never thought to look for the airport. What a dolt! It looks lovely. (I'm somewhat less enthusiastic about all the camper spots, but then I don't have a camper, either.)

Dick, that is Sunbury, 71N.

Typically, there are campers along the perimter, boats at the little coves and inlets, and planes flying in on the turf field...and the seaplane base. One family owns that part of the island and rents our space/power the campers, many of whom stay year-around.

This is an interesting place...Amelia Ehrhart once landed here and there are photos to prove it....a few summers ago, A B-17 landed here in honor of Dutch VanKirk, the Navigator of the Enola Gay, after he passed...it is a fantastic aerodrome, 3000 x 300 of nice turf.

Now, nothing due to the Chinese Corona Virus...

Hopefully, but the mid to late summer, we will have our FLY-IN COOK-OUTS the first weekend of every Saturday starting at 1100. The EAA chapter up there does a great job of it!

All welcome!  Private airport wtih public access.

25 April - another SAFE fly-out for PIZZA as a flying club.  This time, to SMOKETOWN AIRPORT which has outdoor tables in the sun where everyone could stay safe and enjoy a flight to a nice airport in the farmlands of Lancaster, PA.  Great day to be out flying. Hope you all get to do a little flying in your corner of the USA.

02 May 2020...the Chinese Corona Virus still having effects on general aviation, but...we are flying within the guidelines safely using all mandated requirements, but finding ways to do it smartly!

Saturday we flew to Bloomsburg, PA (N13) and had a brown-bag fly-in down by the Bloomsburg Historic Memorial Flood Marker, right off the airport.

Nice time! People from the town saw our formation landing and came out to see what was going on.....and then got thier own food and JOINED US!

Good times, friendly people and airport manager (BJ), good airport dog, and fun during tough times....keep 'em flyin'!
